APC Launches Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Election

On Tuesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated its 276-member National Campaign Council, declaring the Osun State governorship election a “must-win” contest and a critical test for the 2027 general elections. The APC National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, emphasized the party's strategy to utilize its political structures and grassroots network to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party and support its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

In response, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Imole Campaign Council dismissed the APC's mobilization efforts as a sign of desperation, asserting that the governor's performance would ensure his re-election. The campaign council, chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, aims to mobilize resources for victory, with Yilwatda stating that the Osun election serves as a rehearsal for the upcoming general elections.

The APC plans intensive person-to-person and house-to-house campaigns, engaging governors and elected officials from across Nigeria to bolster grassroots support.
