Osun State Increases Teacher Recruitment to 1,241

The Osun State government has announced a supplementary list for the 2026 teachers' recruitment exercise, increasing the total number of teachers to be hired from 1,000 to 1,241. This announcement was made by the state’s Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Kehind Jimoh, following the approval of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The initiative aims to absorb qualified unemployed youth into teaching positions, thereby improving learning outcomes in primary and secondary schools across the state. The breakdown of the new hires includes 660 from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), 526 from the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), and 55 educational officers.

Jimoh urged successful candidates to verify their names on the list and complete the necessary documentation. The newly recruited teachers are expected to contribute significantly to the improvement of the educational sector and maintain the professional teaching role in the state.
