Over 21,000 Apply for 1,000 Rural Teaching Jobs in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), led by Executive Chairman Dr. Kasim Mohd.

Kasim, is currently overseeing a recruitment exercise for 1,000 rural teaching positions. A total of 21,452 applicants have expressed interest in these roles, which are primarily aimed at enhancing educational services in underserved rural communities across the state.

The application window was initially criticized for being too short, prompting the board to extend the deadline by one week to allow more qualified candidates to apply. Dr.

Kasim has emphasized that the recruitment process will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, warning applicants who are unwilling to work in rural areas to reconsider their applications. The successful candidates will be deployed to rural schools, addressing the need for qualified teachers in these regions.
