Osun State Government Withdraws Lawsuit Against CBN Over Withheld Funds

The Osun State Government has decided to withdraw its legal action against the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regarding the withheld local government funds. The lawsuit, which aimed to prevent the release of the funds, was withdrawn in the Federal High Court by counsel Musibau Adetumbi on behalf of the state government.

The court case also involved the tenure of local government officials under the APC administration, with concerns raised about the damages caused by the lawsuit. The defense did not oppose the withdrawal, and the case was adjourned until October 29, 2025, by Justice Emeka Nwite.
