Gunshots Cause Panic in Osogbo During Election Collation

On Saturday night, sporadic gunshots were heard in various parts of Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, leading to panic among residents and road users near election result collation centres. The gunfire was reported around 9:45 p.m. near the Ataoja D, Ward 4 collation centre located in the Fakunle area, prompting residents and onlookers to flee the vicinity.

It remains unclear who fired the shots, the direction from which they came, or whether the collation activities at the centre were disrupted. Additional gunshots were reported around the Salvation Army School area in Alekuwodo, where voting had previously taken place.

As of the time of reporting, residents in the affected areas continued to experience panic.
