APC Thugs Disrupt Voting in Osogbo, Osun State Elections

During the elections in Osogbo, Osun State, armed thugs, allegedly affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), initiated a shooting spree at Polling Unit 1, Ward 2, in the Ogo-Oluwa, Golf Junction area. Approximately eight masked individuals discharged their weapons indiscriminately, creating panic among voters.

Despite the chaos, security personnel were able to safeguard some ballot boxes, but the thugs successfully absconded with others. The Presiding Officer indicated that the delay in vote counting was due to voters arriving late and insisting on casting their votes.

An eyewitness claimed that the thugs were hired by the APC, stating that the polling unit was under the jurisdiction of Accord and that the large crowd indicated a clear victory for Accord. The eyewitness expressed concern over the attempts to undermine the will of the people, reflecting on the broader implications for governance in the state.
