Otti Emerges Consensus Candidate in Abia Labour Party Primaries

In the Labour Party primaries held in Abia State, Governor Alex Otti emerged as a consensus candidate. The primaries were conducted under the supervision of Oluchi Opara, the chairman of the party's electoral committee, and were reported to comply with the Labour Party constitution and the Electoral Act of 2026.

The process saw overwhelming support from party members across various political wards, with Otti commending the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections. No adverse reports were received, and the exercise was described as transparent by Acho Obioma, the Labour Party's chief.

The primaries marked the beginning of the party's next phase of political engagement, with Otti urging candidates to reach out to undecided voters. Several candidates were also endorsed for various state constituencies, including Boniface Isienyi for Ikwuano, Chinedu Okori for Arochukwu, and others across Abia State.
