AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu Passes Away; Condolences from Leaders

Abia State Governor Alex Otti announced the passing of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Kanayo Uzuegbu, who died due to complications related to cancer. Otti revealed that Uzuegbu had been struggling for his life and had recently been transferred back to the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia after receiving treatment in Enugu.

The governor expressed deep regret over Uzuegbu's death, describing him as a good man and calling for a minute of silence in his honor. Uzuegbu resumed his duties as AIG of Zone 9 last year.

Former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu and Theodor Orji extended their condolences to the Nigeria Police Force and Uzuegbu's family, noting his dedication, discipline, and significant contributions to maintaining peace and security, particularly in the southeastern region of Nigeria. Kalu emphasized the painful loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large, asking for strength for Uzuegbu's family and colleagues.
