Otti Rejects Claims of Labour Party Supporting APC

Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, addressed journalists in Abuja regarding rumors that the Labour Party (LP) would collapse its structure to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Otti categorically dismissed these claims as unrealistic and not worth serious consideration.

He stated that the Labour Party has no intention of weakening itself or stepping aside to allow the APC an easier victory in the polls. Otti explained that the party operates independently and continues to function democratically, emphasizing that it would not make sense for the LP, which has built its structure over time, to suddenly give up its responsibilities.

He also noted that the party is ready to welcome back members as long as disputes are resolved, highlighting a recent alignment of state chairmen with the current leadership to show unity within the party as they move forward together.
