275 Biase Residents Empowered Under Otu's Agenda

The "People First" Agenda of Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has positively impacted Biase Local Government Area, where Council Chairman Edodi Eyong empowered over 275 residents through scholarships, business support, and skills acquisition programs. The council awarded scholarships to over 120 students, providing N200,000 for undergraduates and N250,000 for postgraduates to alleviate financial burdens.

Additionally, 55 young women were trained in skills such as soap making and baking, receiving start-up funds for their businesses. More than 100 residents benefited from a business empowerment scheme, receiving equipment like deep freezers and sewing machines.

The initiative also included social welfare support for vulnerable residents. Eyong emphasized that these efforts align with the administration's goal of translating government support into income and stronger communities.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting the significant impact on their livelihoods. The Paramount Ruler of Biase commended the chairman for extending support to the traditional institution.
