Kaduna's Armed Forest Guards Initiative Tackles Insecurity

Malam Nuhu Ribadu, represented by Malam Sani Sani, the Director of Internal Security at the Office of the National Security Adviser, emphasized the collaboration between the Federal Government and Kaduna State under Governor Uba Sani in combating insecurity. This statement was made during the graduation of the first batch of Armed Forest Guards.

Ribadu noted that the training conducted in Kaduna State is currently regarded as the best in the country. Over 1000 Forest Guards underwent extensive training in various areas, including weapons handling and civil-military cooperation.

The initiative, declared by President Bola Tinubu on May 24, 2025, aims to empower local communities to protect ungoverned spaces and enhance security. Governor Uba Sani expressed pride in the training's success and requested an additional 1000 Forest Guards to further bolster security efforts in Kaduna, highlighting improvements in accessibility to previously insecure local governments since he took office in 2023.
