Kaduna Government Supports NSA's Forest Guard Initiative

The Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Uba Sani, has praised the National Security Adviser (NSA) for launching a Forest Guard program designed to address the rising threats of terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping in rural communities. During a visit from a high-level delegation led by Major General Hi Mabeokwu, Director of Defence Affairs at the NSA, Governor Sani reaffirmed the state government's commitment to supporting this initiative.

The program involves training 1,000 armed forest guards, with 60 percent of the training curriculum focused on weapon handling and operational tactics necessary for effective forest security operations. The training is coordinated by the NSA in collaboration with various security agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency, Department of State Services, Nigeria Police Force, and Armed Forces.

The initiative aims to reclaim forest areas that have become operational bases for criminal groups, with expectations that the forest guards will complement conventional security agencies in maintaining safety and gathering intelligence.
