Makinde Consoles Families of Abducted Oyo Pupils

On Children's Day, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde extended his condolences to the families of schoolchildren and a teacher who were abducted by bandits during a terrorist raid on May 15 in Oriire Local Government Area. The attack resulted in the abduction of several pupils, including a toddler, and the beheading of a mathematics teacher.

Governor Makinde acknowledged the pain experienced by the families during this difficult time and emphasized the need for a speedy rescue of the victims. He reassured families that the state administration is actively working with security agencies to resolve the crisis and ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals.

The governor's message came as families gathered to celebrate Children's Day, which coincided with the Eid el-Kabir festival, symbolizing sacrifice and faith.
