Outrage as Lagos Government Demolishes Ibibio Community Centre, Sparks Cultural Controversy

The demolition of the Ibibio Community Centre by the Lagos State Government has sparked outrage, with the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio condemning the action as an assault on the identity and heritage of the Ibibio ethnic nation. The community center, serving as a cultural hub for the Ibibio people, was demolished without proper agreement or adequate compensation.

The group demands justice, restoration, and recognition of their cultural rights. Appeals have been made to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo E to intervene and halt further encroachment on the site.
