Delta Police Arrest Organizer of Controversial Festival

A significant backlash has arisen over a festival in Delta State, Nigeria, described as a "rape festival," after a viral video surfaced showing young women being harassed and assaulted by groups of men. The video depicted distressing scenes where women were seen clutching torn clothing and crying as they were surrounded by men.

This prompted widespread condemnation on social media, with many Nigerians demanding immediate action from security agencies to ensure justice for the victims. Reports indicated that women in the community were advised to remain indoors during the festival period.

In response to the outrage, the Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the event organizer, Omored Sundai, and four other suspects. Bright Edaf, a spokesperson for the police, stated that the suspects would be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

The police vowed to arrest anyone involved in the incident to bring them to justice.
