Nigeria to Repatriate 2000 Refugees from Niger, 14,000 from Cameroon

The Nigerian government revealed plans to repatriate over 2000 Nigerian refugees from Niger, as part of efforts to provide durable solutions for displaced populations. The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr.

Yakubu Adamu Kofarmata, disclosed the repatriation during a meeting with the High Commissioner program. Additionally, 14,000 Nigerian refugees in Cameroon have expressed willingness to return home, with a resettlement city launched in Nasarawa State to accommodate returnees, aiming to close IDP camps and support refugee populations.
