Over 20,000 Students Benefit from NELFUND at Anyigba

Prof. Sani Nefaye Abdullahi, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba in Kogi State, announced that over 20,000 students have benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) since its inception.

He described the loan scheme as an impactful education policy, allowing students to receive monthly upkeep allowances, which significantly alleviated financial pressures during examinations. The latest payment was made just a week prior to his statements, providing timely support for students.

Abdullahi also acknowledged the role of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in enhancing the university's academic and research capabilities, noting that it has funded four major infrastructure projects in the last three years. Fredrick Nwabufo, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to education and the government's efforts to remove financial barriers for young Nigerians, including the recent launch of the HOPE-EDU programme worth over 500 million dollars.
