Over 600 Defectors Join APC at Kogi Deputy Governor's Event

Over 600 individuals from the Peoples Democratic Party and Social Democratic Party defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a reception honoring Kogi State Deputy Governor Joel Salifu. The event took place in Ofu Local Government on Saturday, where traditional leaders, including HRH Akwu Obaj, acknowledged the loyalty of the defectors.

Salifu expressed gratitude towards former Governor Yahaya Bello and emphasized his commitment to serving the people. He highlighted ongoing projects under Governor Ahm Ododo's administration, including road improvements and access to clean water.

The Deputy Governor urged the youth to avoid crime and embrace education and hard work. Kogi State Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo called for peace and unity among citizens, regardless of their religious or ethnic affiliations.

The event featured cultural displays and was attended by various dignitaries, signaling a significant political shift in the region ahead of the 2027 elections.
