NSITF Enrolls Over 7.6 Million Workers in ECS

Barrister Oluwaseun Falayi, Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), announced that over 7.6 million workers have enrolled in the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS), achieving a historic milestone. This disclosure was made on Wednesday during the 2026 International Civil Service Conference held in Abuja.

The enrollment of the Nigeria Police Force into the scheme for the first time represents a significant step in strengthening social protection for officers in the line of duty. Falayi emphasized that this initiative would enhance national security by ensuring that officers and their families are protected in cases of injury or loss of life while serving.

The conference's theme focused on reform and resilience, highlighting the urgent need for public institutions to evolve and innovate in response to increasing pressures to deliver efficient, people-centered services. Falayi also mentioned that the NSITF is committed to reforming governance, enhancing transparency, and combating corruption through the establishment of anti-corruption mechanisms and compliance service delivery.
