Over N350m Recovered from Terrorist Financiers in North-East

Major General Abubakar Abdulsalam, the outgoing Theatre Commander of the North-East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, disclosed that over N350 million was recovered from terrorist financiers since he took command on April 28, 2022. During a press briefing in Maiduguri, Borno State, he highlighted the restoration of normalcy in the North-East, which included the reopening of markets, schools, and major supply routes, allowing over 7,000 displaced families to return to their communities.

Abdulsalam reported the discovery and safe detonation of over 300 explosive devices and the capture of 758 terrorist logistics collaborators. He noted that more than 3,000 individuals had been repatriated from the Republic of Cameroon.

The operation also neutralized over 1,200 terrorists, including 216 top-ranking leaders, and recovered over 500 assorted weapons. Abdulsalam commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other military leaders for their support throughout his tenure.
