Major General Ibikunle Ajose Takes Charge of Operation Hadin Kai

Major General Ibikunle Ajose has assumed leadership of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, which is Nigeria's primary military effort against the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents in the North-East region. His appointment grants him full operational control of this critical counter-insurgency theatre.

Ajose is a career infantry officer with a robust military background, having previously served as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 8 Division, which conducted operations in the North-West. He also held the position of Commander of Sector 2 in the Joint Task Force North-West, involved in countering banditry and security threats.

Prior to his current role, he worked within the Department of Army Operations at Army Headquarters. Known as "General Airborne," Ajose's extensive operational experience is expected to significantly influence his management of the complex security challenges in the North-East.
