Nigerian Army Redeploys Major General Abubakar, 14 Others

The Nigerian Army has executed a minor shake-up involving the redeployment of Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, along with 14 other generals. This strategic move, approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, aims to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen leadership within the Army.

Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that the redeployment focuses on critical operational theatres and strategic appointments to ensure experienced leadership is in place. Major General IA Ajose has been appointed as the new Theatre Commander for Operation Hadin Kai, while Major General AE Abubakar has been reassigned to the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre as Dean of the Faculty of Operational Research.

Other notable redeployments include Major General AM Umar to the Army War College Nigeria as Commandant and Brigadier General AA Bello to the Department of Defence Operations. The Chief of Army Staff has urged the newly appointed officers to justify the confidence placed in them.
