Oyebanji Supports PWDs in Ekiti with Food and Cash Aid

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, represented by Princess Adetoun Agboola, distributed food items and cash assistance to persons with disabilities (PWDs) across the state as part of a social protection initiative aimed at alleviating economic hardship. The distribution occurred over three days, commencing on the last Monday of the previous month and concluding last Wednesday, providing beneficiaries with bags of rice, beans, and cash grants.

Princess Agboola emphasized the administration's commitment to improving the welfare and rights of PWDs, noting that the initiative reflects a genuine desire to enhance their quality of life. She reminded beneficiaries of the free healthcare program approved for PWDs in Ekiti State and urged them to register at primary healthcare centers.

Additionally, she highlighted various interventions by the Oyebanji administration, including upgrading special schools, recruiting specialized personnel, and establishing therapy centers. Despite the positive impact of these initiatives, Agboola expressed concern over the low turnout of PWDs in previous financial assistance schemes and called for greater participation in future programs.
