Oyebanji Orders Military Base to Enhance Eda Oniyo Security

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has announced plans to establish additional military formations in the Eda Oniyo axis of Ilejemeje Local Government Area to bolster security in the region. This directive follows a significant security breach in April when gunmen abducted 15 worshippers from a CAC church, who were released after 60 days.

During a meeting with a delegation from Eda Oniyo, led by Oba Julius Awolola, Oyebanji emphasized the government's commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He also ordered the expedited completion of a divisional police station under construction in Eda Oniyo.

Acknowledging the community's slow development due to a prolonged legal dispute, he assured that the state government would focus on transforming Eda Oniyo into a suitable local government headquarters. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for supporting the creation of state police, which he believes will effectively address security challenges.

Oyebanji confirmed that a combined team of soldiers and police regularly patrols the area to deter criminal activities.
