Oyebanji Orders Free Medical Care for Kidnap Victims

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has mandated that free medical care be provided for victims of the recent kidnapping incident involving Eda Oniyo in the Ilejemeje Local Government Area. Following the victims' release on April 28, 2026, the governor instructed the state Ministry of Health and Human Services to oversee their welfare and ensure comprehensive medical screening and treatment at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti.

The state government will cover all medical expenses incurred during the victims' treatment until they are certified fit to reintegrate with their families. Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for supporting the safe return of the victims and commended the heads of security agencies for their efforts.

He also extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the kidnapping incident and urged individuals on social media to collaborate with the government to build a safer state.
