Oyebanji Calls for Revenue Agency Collaboration in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji urged for stronger collaboration among revenue-generating agencies to enhance the state's internally generated revenue, block leakages, and improve service delivery. During a mid-year review meeting in Ado Ekiti, he highlighted the importance of effective cooperation among agencies to meet revenue targets.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Yinka Oyebode, reported that Oyebanji directed all ministries, departments, and agencies to work closely with the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service and transition from manual to automated revenue collection processes, citing the outdated nature of manual collection as a source of fraud and leakages. He announced a comprehensive review of compliance by all revenue-generating agencies set for September, reaffirming his administration's commitment to a transparent revenue collection system.

The meeting included key officials such as the Commissioner for Finance, Akin Oyebode, and the Chairman of EKIRS, Olaniran Olatona, who provided feedback on their challenges and plans for revenue improvement.
