New Digital Platform to Enhance Nigeria's Tax Dispute Resolution

On a recent occasion in Abuja, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, stated that a modern tax system must be anchored on trust, fairness, and accountability between taxpayers and the government.

He unveiled a new digital platform designed to enhance taxpayer dispute resolution, which includes a toll-free call center and a case management system. This initiative aims to strengthen taxpayer protection and improve the efficiency of dispute resolution.

Oyedele noted that the reform is part of ongoing efforts to enhance fairness and transparency in tax compliance. Dr.

John Nwabuez, Chief Executive Officer of the Office of the Tax Ombud, described the launch of the digital platform as a significant milestone in building access to a responsive tax dispute resolution framework. The initiative aligns with the federal government's agenda under President Bola Tinubu to reshape the country’s revenue administration around fairness and public trust.
