Finance Minister Calls for Enhanced Global Reputation for Nigeria

Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, called on the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to play a vital role in enhancing Nigeria's reputation on the global stage. This appeal was made during a meeting in Abuja with a delegation from NIPR, led by its President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku.

Oyedele highlighted the importance of strategic and fact-based reputation management to foster confidence in Nigeria both domestically and internationally. He urged communication professionals to prioritize facts and professionalism in conveying Nigeria's narrative.

The Minister acknowledged the NIPR's contributions to tax reform and its role in positioning public relations as a tool for national development. Dr. Neliaku expressed gratitude for Oyedele's support and mentioned the upcoming World Public Relations Forum, scheduled for November 15 to 21, 2026, in Abuja, which will gather public relations experts from 126 countries to discuss issues related to reputation and national development.
