PDP Leaders Endorse APC's Oyebamiji for Osun Election

Ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026, in Osun State, former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and several leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC). The endorsement occurred during a declaration event in Osogbo, attended by notable figures including former State Secretary Alhaji Fatai Akinbade and former PDP National Vice Chairman (Southwest) Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo.

Oyinlola clarified that the group is not defecting from the PDP but prioritizing their conscience and the interests of Osun State over strict party loyalty. He expressed concerns about the current administration's lack of inclusiveness and emphasized the need for good governance, economic development, and an inclusive government that represents all citizens.

Oyinlola stated, “Our membership of the PDP is not in question,” highlighting their commitment to the party while advocating for a change in leadership direction.
