Accord Party Endorses APC's Oyebamiji for Osun Election

Prof. Christopher Imumolen, the factional Accord Party’s presidential candidate and National Chairman, announced the party's withdrawal of support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, endorsing Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. This announcement occurred at an APC mega rally in Osun State on Thursday.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, representing President Bola Tinubu, confirmed that the Accord Party had "thrown in the towel" in favor of the APC candidate. Imumolen symbolically replaced the yellow cap of the Accord Party with that of the APC, urging all Accord members in Osun State to vote for Oyebamiji.

He expressed confidence that Oyebamiji would be sworn in as governor on August 15. Akpabio assured voters of adequate security during the election, while Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq encouraged party members to vote confidently for Oyebamiji, warning against violence.

Oyebamiji emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Osun.
