Oyo APC Criticizes Makinde Over Recent School Attack

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) condemned a violent attack that occurred on Friday in Oriir Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals and the abduction of an unspecified number of schoolchildren. The APC criticized Governor Seyi Makinde for his failure to ensure the safety of citizens, urging him to take immediate action to address security concerns.

The statement, released by Olawal Sadar from the APC's public secretariat in Ibadan, expressed sympathy for the families of the victims and highlighted the ineffectiveness of the current administration in managing security issues. The attack involved gunmen on motorcycles and was described as part of a troubling trend of violence in the region, particularly affecting the Ibarapa North and Ido local government areas.

The APC called for the deployment of security measures, including the Amotekun Corps, and questioned the governor's commitment to addressing the ongoing insecurity despite significant federal funding received monthly.
