Adelabu Declares Candidacy for Oyo Governorship Race

Adebayo Adelabu has declared his candidacy for the governorship of Oyo State, firmly rejecting the notion of a consensus candidate within the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking at the APC secretariat in Ado, Ibadan, Adelabu stated that the idea of consensus does not consider the interests of all aspirants and is therefore null and void.

He criticized recent endorsements, particularly of Senator Sharafadeen Alli, asserting that such actions should not hijack the party's democratic process. Adelabu expressed his readiness to follow due process in the selection of candidates and assured his supporters that he would contest and win the governorship race in 2027.

He also visited the party leadership to formally notify them of his intentions and reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, committing to the development of Oyo State.
