Oyo APC Criticizes Makinde Over Tinubu's Reforms

The Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement on Monday condemning Governor Seyi Makinde for his continuous criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic reforms. The party's publicity secretary, Comrade Olawale Sadare, stated that Makinde's comments reflect a lack of understanding of economic management and nation-building.

Makinde has previously claimed that the removal of fuel subsidy and the floatation of the naira were intended to harm Nigerians and benefit governors. The APC questioned what Makinde has accomplished for the people of Oyo State during his seven years in office, accusing him of failing to create wealth and provide effective governance.

They criticized his expenditure of N7.8 billion on surveillance aircraft, suggesting that a fraction of that amount could have been better spent on more effective technology. Additionally, the APC pointed to a recent attack by armed bandits in Olorunsogo, questioning the effectiveness of the surveillance aircraft purchased by Makinde's administration.
