Alli Campaign Group Critiques Makinde's Management Failures

The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation, through its director of media and publicity Bisi Oladele, accused Governor Seyi Makinde of allegedly wasting over N250 billion on diesel-powered streetlights in Oyo State. They questioned why Makinde, who claims to have studied electrical engineering, could not implement a sustainable electricity solution, instead relying on fuel-guzzling generators.

The campaign organization criticized the governor for destroying solar infrastructures from his predecessor and for the dysfunctionality of the streetlight project, which now operates only through load-shedding. Additionally, they highlighted the failure of the renovated Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan to secure CAF approval for Shooting Stars Sports Club to host international matches, despite over N5 billion spent on renovations.

The organization raised concerns about the governor's competence and management of taxpayers' money, questioning the quality of the renovation work and the certification process.
