Oyo CAN Urges Churches to Enhance Security Amid Kidnappings

The Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, has issued a directive to churches in the state to implement enhanced security measures in response to a surge in kidnappings and abductions. This directive, communicated through a joint statement by Chairman Rev.

Elisha Ogundiya and Secretary Rev. Samuel Owolabi, advises churches to fence their premises and suspend late-night activities.

The association emphasizes the need for churches to prioritize security by employing trained personnel and utilizing electronic devices for surveillance. Additionally, they recommend that churches conduct security assessments and not allow strangers to sleep on church premises.

The association also urges the public to limit travel during late hours and appreciates the measures taken by the state and federal governments to ensure the release of abducted individuals. They call for expedited government action to secure the release of hostages and reunite them with their families.
