Oyo State Distributes Educational Materials to Students
On Friday, Oyo State commenced the distribution of educational materials as part of the 2024 Federal Government Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) intervention program. The event, held in Ibadan, was led by Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the Chairman of Oyo SUBEB.
The initiative includes the distribution of thousands of core subject textbooks and learning materials, such as 19,289 copies of primary mathematics books, 15,515 copies of primary English books, and additional resources for nursery education. A total of 6,675 school bags, pairs of sandals, exercise books, and pencils were also distributed.
Dr. Adeniran emphasized the importance of utilizing these materials effectively to enhance instructional quality and improve academic performance. Dr. Aisha Garba, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, noted that this intervention aligns with President Bola Tinubu's educational agenda and aims to promote equitable access to quality education for all Nigerian children.
UBEC has distributed 15 million school bags and sandals nationwide to alleviate financial burdens on vulnerable families.
