Oyo Government Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment

The Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, has reiterated its commitment to youth empowerment. Wasilat Adegok, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, emphasized the importance of creating an environment that supports the aspirations of young people across the state.

She encouraged youth to take advantage of various programs initiated by the government, which aim to improve their welfare and provide opportunities in sectors such as sports, education, agriculture, artisanship, and cultural tourism. The administration has successfully transformed the Lekan Salami Sports Complex into a modern facility and is collaborating with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to train and retrain youth in modern agricultural practices.

Additionally, Dr. Sundai Moradeyo noted the government's efforts to appoint qualified youth across different sectors and to rehabilitate and educate young inmates, fostering positive reintegration into society.
