Traditionalists Invoke Deities for Kidnapping Victims' Safety

In response to the increasing wave of kidnappings in Oyo State, women traditionalists from the Oril Ilawo Kingdom, led by Dr. Omolara Fashola MacGregor, conducted a spiritual exercise at various sacred sites in Abeokuta.

This initiative aimed to invoke deities for divine intervention in securing the release of victims held captive. The delegation, comprising numerous women traditionalists, visited historically significant spiritual landmarks, including Olumo Rock and the Itoku Cenotaph, offering prayers and supplications for divine assistance.

Dr. Fashola MacGregor emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in promoting peace and unity within the community, particularly in light of the current insecurity challenges.

The exercise included traditional attire, chants, and the accompaniment of drummers, reflecting the cultural significance of the event. Participants expressed hope that their prayers would complement ongoing efforts by security agencies to rescue victims and called for greater unity among community members to tackle insecurity across the country.
