Oyo Muslim Leaders Pray for Safe Return of Abducted Victims

In response to the abduction of 46 pupils and teachers in Oyo State, Muslim leaders, including Sheikh Abdul Ganiyi Abubakar Agbotomokeker, held a prayer session for their safe return. The incident, which occurred in Oriir Local Government Area, has sparked widespread outrage, leading to nationwide protests.

Alhaji Ishaq Kunl Sani, chairman of the Muslim community in Oyo State, and Alhaji Murisiku Abidemi Siyanbad expressed deep concern over the increasing banditry in the region. They emphasized that the heinous acts do not represent Islam and called for collective action against insecurity.

The prayer session attracted numerous clerics and community leaders, including Alhaji Dr. Abdul Bari Adetunji Aremu and Alhaji Muyideen Abdul Kareem Oniantu, who urged citizens to remain vigilant.

Chief Adebayo Adelabu, a former minister of power, also called for the safe return of the victims. The Nigerian Union of Teachers and the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria have demanded urgent government action to enhance security and protect lives and property.
