Oyo Police Deny Rumors of Abducted Victims' Release

The Oyo State Police Command issued a statement on Friday, debunking false reports about the release of abducted students and a teacher from the Oriire Local Government Area. The spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, emphasized that these rumors were unfounded and aimed at creating unnecessary panic among residents.

The abduction occurred during a coordinated attack on Baptist Nursery Primary School and Grammar School in the Yawota community around 9:30 AM on Friday. The police reassured the public that they are intensifying efforts to secure the safe rescue of the victims and to arrest those responsible for the crime.

The command urged the community to remain calm and to support ongoing operations by the joint security team, while also advising individuals to verify any information before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation that could heighten tension and divert security resources.
