Agbese Urges Tinubu to Honor Military Leaders for Security Success

Philip Agbese, the deputy spokesman for the Labour Party and representative for Ado Okpokwu in the Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, called on President Bola Tinubu to confer prestigious national honors on Nigeria's military leadership. He cited recent security successes, including the rescue of schoolchildren and a teacher abducted in Oyo State, and the thwarting of a mass abduction attempt in Monguno, Borno State.

Agbese emphasized that the current military leadership deserves national recognition, especially during a time when the country is battling insurgency and banditry. He noted the successful resolution of the abduction of 56 individuals in Oyo State, which involved coordinated intelligence-led operations.

Agbese praised the swift response of security agencies and highlighted the importance of recognizing outstanding service within the armed forces to boost morale and public confidence in national security institutions. He urged the federal government to continue investing in military hardware and intelligence to consolidate recent gains against insecurity.
