Oyo Governor Makinde Assures Safe Return of Abducted Victims

On Wednesday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde provided assurances regarding the safe return of teachers and students abducted during an attack on Baptist Nursery Primary School and Yawota Community Grammar School in Esiel Oriir Local Government Area. The incident occurred on the penultimate Friday around 9:30 PM.

During Eid el-Kabir celebrations at his private residence in Ibadan, Makinde, accompanied by Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, expressed sympathy for the affected families and emphasized the administration's commitment to ensuring the safe release of the victims. He urged unity among the people of Oyo State, regardless of political differences, and highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and coexistence.

Makinde also called on security agencies to intensify rescue efforts. A special prayer session led by Chief Imam Abdulganiyi Agbotomokeker was held to seek divine intervention for the victims' safe return and to promote peace and security across the state.
