NBA Urges Oyo Governor to Regulate Influx Amid Attacks

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), represented by its Ibadan branch chairman Ibrahim Lawal, has called on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to take urgent action to regulate the influx of people and commercial motorcyclists (Okada riders) in the state. This appeal follows a disturbing incident where a teacher and students were abducted during coordinated attacks on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area on a recent Friday at approximately 9:30 AM.

The NBA expressed deep concern over the increasing crime rates and the government's inadequate response to such incidents. They emphasized the need for proactive measures to protect the lives and properties of citizens, warning against complacency and urging the government to ensure the safe return of the victims.

The association criticized the government's delayed rescue efforts and called for a thorough investigation to identify and eliminate criminal elements in the community.
