Oyo Speaker Honors Olamma Care Foundation's Impact on Women

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Olamma Care Foundation, Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin commended the organization for its significant impact on 25,000 women through mental health outreach and therapy access initiatives over the last decade. The event, held in Ibadan, introduced the "Um Heal Circle" model, which aims to provide culturally grounded approaches to mental health, particularly for women who often face social, economic, and emotional challenges.

Ogundoyin emphasized the critical need to prioritize mental health within national development agendas, advocating for legislative support to enhance mental health systems and promote gender-responsive interventions. He acknowledged the importance of collaboration between government, civil society, and private sectors to effectively address complex mental health issues.

Chioma Nwosu, the founder and executive director of Olamma Care Foundation, highlighted the organization's journey in raising awareness about mental health and creating supportive spaces for women, marking a significant milestone in their mission to foster community healing and empowerment.
