Oyo SUBEB Chair Celebrates Safe Return of Abducted Pupils

Nureni Adeniran, the chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, celebrated the safe return of 46 pupils and a teacher who were abducted on May 15 from Ahoro Esiel in Yawota, Oriire Local Government Area. In a statement issued in Ibadan, Adeniran described their release as a moment of great relief and gratitude, emphasizing the joy it brought to families, colleagues, and the educational community.

He acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde for their commitment to the rescue operations and commended the security agencies for their professionalism and courage. Adeniran also expressed appreciation to religious leaders, traditional rulers, civil society organizations, and the media for their support during the difficult period.

He called for sustained prayers for peace and security across the country and reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring schools remain safe environments for teaching and learning.
