Oyo NUT Praises Rescue of Abducted Teachers and Students

The Oyo State wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) commended the successful rescue of abducted teachers and students, as stated in a joint release signed by Chairman Comrade Hassan Ajibola and Secretary Comrade Olukayode Salami. The union described the rescue as a significant victory and a source of renewed confidence in the education sector.

They expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Nigerian federal government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Oyo State government, led by Engr. Seyi Makinde, for deploying resources to ensure the safe return of the victims.

The NUT acknowledged the commitment and courage of the security agencies involved in the operation, which resulted in the safe release of the individuals without harm. The union also urged the government to strengthen security measures around school communities, emphasizing that every child deserves a safe learning environment and every teacher should be able to perform their duties without fear.
