UK Condemns Violence Impacting Palestinian Children

The United Kingdom addressed the United Nations, condemning the escalating violence in the West Bank, particularly its impact on Palestinian children who face repeated violence, displacement, and educational disruption. In July, 13 Palestinians and two Israelis were killed.

The UK criticized Israeli forces for demolishing three donor-funded classrooms at Sha’ab al Butum School on August 4, just weeks before the school year began. Citing a report from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the UK noted over 1,300 settler-related incidents affecting more than 250 Palestinian communities, with around 900 Palestinians injured and over 3,200 displaced this year.

The UK condemned attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian communities, some occurring alongside Israeli Defense Force personnel, and welcomed recent arrests of perpetrators but insisted more action is needed. The UK also called for an end to restrictions on humanitarian aid in Gaza and urged the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
