Ilorin Christians Celebrate Palm Sunday, Call for Peace

On Palm Sunday, Christians in Ilorin, Kwara State, participated in a procession to commemorate the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, marking the beginning of Passion Week. Various denominations gathered at Saint Barnaba Cathedral and marched through major city routes, including Murtala, Maraba, and Taiwo Isal.

Right Reverend Sundai Adewol, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, encouraged believers to remain steadfast in their faith during challenging times. He appealed to the government and security agencies to prioritize the protection of lives and property, highlighting the economic hardships faced by citizens due to rising petroleum prices and erratic electricity supply.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Religious Matters, Reverend Timothi Oluwagbemiga Akangb, called for prayers for the progress of Kwara State and the nation, urging the community to show kindness and commitment to uplifting one another during the holy week.
