Panda Painting Experience Enhances Nigeria-China Relations

The Panda Painting Experience, held in Abuja, serves to strengthen Nigeria-China cultural diplomacy, commemorating 55 years of diplomatic relations. Zhou Hongyou, a minister from the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, emphasized the event's role in bridging Chinese and African cultures through art, with the panda symbolizing peace and harmony.

The exhibition showcased cultural heritage from Sichuan Province, the panda's homeland. The event also highlighted China's decision to grant zero tariff treatment to 53 African countries, creating opportunities for Nigerian products in China's consumer market.

Abdulkarim Ozi Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Art and Culture, described the event as a practical demonstration of cultural diplomacy, noting that art transcends language and geography. Ahm Bashir Sodangi, Director of the National Gallery of Art, remarked on the panda as a global symbol of peace and friendship, stating that the initiative contributes significantly to the long-standing bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China.
