Pantami to Contest Gombe PDP Rerun Primary Election

Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, is contesting a rerun primary election for the Gombe PDP governorship ticket after the Federal High Court in Gombe, led by Justice Amina Mohammed, nullified the May 26 primary election. The court ordered a fresh election within one month but did not challenge Pantami's membership in the PDP.

Alongside him, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki and Usman Aliyu Garry have been cleared to contest. Political observers note that Pantami has significant backing from key party figures, including Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, who previously endorsed him over other aspirants.
